Welcome to our
corner of the Earth

In 2024, we became land owners to 5 acres of ex-agricultural pasture in Felingwm Isaf, Carmarthenshire.  The land currently holds little ecological value and lacks diversity in species.

Our aim is to use permaculture methods to regenerate the land, cultivate a species-rich, biodiverse ecosystem and create harmony between people and the land.

As a non-profit business, we rely on donations to continue to run this project. There are currently no permanent forest school sites that are open to the general public in Carmarthenshire, so donations are hugely needed to get Seed + Root open and running. Whatever you can donate will go directly back into Seed + Root and the development of the project to give Carmarthenshire a much needed resource for children and the community. Thank you!

Phase 1:

  • Extend the hedgerow using native species donated by The Woodland Trust

  • Plant new broadleaf woodland using mixed, native species donated by The Woodland Trust

  • Plant a Welsh variety orchard

  • Structural application: Secure fencing, gates, and hard standing for cars and storage. Offset the ecological impact with hedgehog highway, deadwood piles, and pollinating plants surrounding the edges.

  • Plant 35 metres of mixed species willow

  • Creation of an allotment for community food production

  • Plant native bulbs

  • Introduction of composting system

  • Basic water collection system

  • Build compost toilet

  • Storage shed for equipment

  • Introduce bird boxes, owl boxes, bat boxes, bug homes, and hibernaculum.
