Hello!

A 29 year old woman with blonde hair wearing a floral jumpsuit and glasses. She is stirring a pot of jam with a spatula and has two children watching her by her side.

I'm Philippa,

the founder and director of Seed + Root. I have worked with children in a variety of settings, including a fantastic Forest School nursery, for over 10 years. I created Seed + Root Nature School to provide an alternative provision and natural sanctuary for children which also helps nature! I love sharing my knowledge and skills with both children and adults but more importantly, I love learning from them.  I strive to cultivate a connection between our community and the natural world, sharing the beauty of it together.  I am a novice forager and natural dyer and always believe in having a go at new things!

I Home Educate my two young boys and you can usually find us exploring the woods, paddling in streams, or pottering about in the garden.

This is Glyn

Photo of Glyn coming soon!

Groundskeeper, land owner, and all round handy-man.

You will usually find Glyn pottering around the site doing maintenance and keeping things in order.  Can he fix it? Yes he can!  Glyn has done the majority of structural work to our site and we wouldn't be able to open without him; from gates and fencing, to the water supply and the compost toilet.  Glyn is recently retired from a long career in project management and engineering so he certainly knows how to get the job done.  Glyn and Debbie own the land our site is situated so we are really grateful to them for trusting Seed + Root.

This is Gareth

Gareth is our Assistant Director. He is also a Qualified Teacher and worked with KS2 in Primary Schools for 8 years before retraining so he could spend more time at home with his children.  During his time in schools, Gareth specialised in Additional Learning Needs and Behaviour Management.  He was born and bred in South Wales but happily moved West to be closer to his favourite place, Tenby! Gareth has an interest in History and brings his knowledge of Welsh culture and project management to Seed + Root.
